No. Flaxseed and most other vegetarian sources of Omega-3 only offer the short-chain fatty acid, ALA, which must convert to EPA in the body. However, only about 5% of ALA is converted to EPA in the body. With New Harvest™, you get the EPA your body needs, directly from a non-fish source. Learn more

Can New Harvest™ interfere with any medical conditions or other medications I am taking?
It’s important that you talk to your doctor or healthcare professional before taking dietary supplements of any kind. While the recommended serving of New Harvest™ can safely be taken with most medications and medical conditions, this is especially important if you are taking medications such as anticoagulants and blood thinners, have a bleeding disorder, or anticipate surgery. Additionally, New Harvest™ is not recommended for women who are pregnant or nursing.
Should New Harvest™ be taken on a full or empty stomach?
The benefits of New Harvest™ are not affected by whether you take it on a full or empty stomach. However, people who have sensitive stomachs may want to take their Omega-3 supplement with food.

What’s the difference between EPA, DHA, and ALA?
Of the three main types of Omega-3 fatty acids, EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) are both long-chain fatty acids often found in fish and fish oil. EPA is mainly known for helping promote heart health, and DHA is often recognized for brain and learning development in infants. ALA (alpha linoleic acid) is a short-chain fatty acid that inefficiently converts (at a rate of about 5%) to EPA in the body, and is found in plant sources like flaxseed and dark leafy greens. Is it necessary for me to take an Omega-3 supplement if I eat fish regularly?
The American Heart Association recommends healthy people eat at least two servings of fatty fish per week to promote heart health. Unfortunately, the average person in the U.S. does not get enough Omega-3 this way (the equivalent of approximately 500 mg of EPA and DHA per day). Learn more
What is the difference between ethyl esters and natural triglycerides?
Omega-3 fatty acids can be found in two forms: ethyl esters and triglycerides. Omega-3's in concentrated fish oil supplements are typically in the ethyl ester form. New Harvest™ provides EPA in the triglyceride form which is like the natural form found in food.
Since the average diet in the U.S. is low in Omega-3s, getting “too much” is not usually a problem.
